Marquette Nurse Earns Outstanding Service by a School Nurse Award
Tracy Crawford, a school nurse at Marquette High, has been named a recipient of the 2024 St. Louis Suburban School Nurses' Association's (SLSSNA) Outstanding Service by a School Nurse Award.
SLSSNA recognizes school nurses who have made an outstanding contribution to their school, community, district or state organization.
"Tracy is professional in everything she does. Her kindness and compassion while helping students is great," read a letter nominating Crawford for the award. "She collaborates with colleagues as well as school administrators to ensure the safety, security and wellness of our entire school community.”
Crawford and her fellow award recipients were honored at the SLSSNA Fall Dinner Conference in Maryland Heights on Nov. 21.
"I was very surprised and honored when I learned that I received the SLSSNA Outstanding Service by a School Nurse Award. I love working at Marquette High School and feel like I have found my home with the staff and students here," she said. "Through my experience as an ER and pediatric ICU nurse, I am confident in navigating the complexities of various health conditions and emergencies that arise. I am very lucky to work every day with my co-nurse, Lindsey Elders, and learn from her experience as a cardiology, primary care and mental health nurse. By combining our knowledge and experience, along with incredible support from our administration and staff, we are able to provide exceptional care to the Marquette population."
