More than 50 Rockwood Students Qualify for National Future Business Leaders of America Conference

A total of 54 Rockwood School District students from all four Rockwood high schools have qualified for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference.

The students earned their spots at Nationals by finishing in the top four of their competitive events at the Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference from April 12-14 in Springfield.

Marquette's FBLA chapter had 55 students finish in the top 10 in the state and 35 advance to Nationals; Lafayette had 34 students finish in the top 10, with 21 advancing to Nationals; Eureka had five students in the top 10, with three advancing to Nationals; and Rockwood Summit had four students in the top 10, with two advancing to Nationals.

Marquette's Adithya Chengalvala (Future Business Leader and Management Information Systems), Deetya Ladi, Saanvi Makkapati and Anushka Suratia (Business Ethics), Vihaan Sawardekar (Network Design) and Saanvi Vanga (Customer Service) and Lafayette's Noah Bairu, Vivek Maddineni and Timothy Zheng (Website Coding and Development) all earned state championships in their events.

Marquette, the state's largest FBLA chapter with 193 members, received the Gold Level Chapter award, as well as the Spirit Gavel, at the state conference.

The FBLA National Leadership Conference will be held June 29-July 2 in San Antonio, Texas.
