Nearly 30 Rockwood Fall Sports Athletes Earn Post-Dispatch All-Metro

A total of 27 fall sports student-athletes representing all four Rockwood high schools earned All-Metro recognition from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, including one Player of the Year.

Lafayette High's Shaye Witherspoon (girls volleyball) was named the top area athlete in her sport by the Post-Dispatch, after playing a leading role in the Lancers' fourth straight state championship. This is also the fourth straight year a Lafayette player has earned All-Metro girls volleyball Player of the Year honors and the third year in a row that a Witherspoon has earned the title, following Shaye's older sister, Maya in, 2023 and 2024.

A total of 11 Rockwood athletes were named first-team All-Metro, nine earned second-team honors, and seven were named to the All-Metro third team.
