Rockwood Announces 2026 Cornerstone Award Nominees

Rockwood Announces 2026 Cornerstone Award Nominees
Each year, Rockwood recognizes its support staff members who demonstrate outstanding service to the district, including bus drivers, nurses, secretaries, custodians, computer support personnel, classroom assistants, Special School District teachers and all the other Rockwood employees who serve our students and staff every day.
This year, we received 113 Cornerstone nominations for 84 different support staff members. Now, a selection committee, led by Jeffrey Horstman, Robin Prado and Julia Solter, is in the process of carefully reviewing each nomination. Ten winners will be announced the week of Nov. 10, and these recipients will be formally honored at the ROSE Awards this spring.

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has released the statewide Annual Performance Reports for the 2024-2025 school year. Rockwood scored 90.0 percent, up 2 percentage points from 2023-2024.

A number of Rockwood elementary and middle schools earned recognition in U.S. News & World Report's latest edition of Best K-8 Schools rankings, which were released Oct. 28.

Nov. 13 is now officially "Believe in Gianna Day" in the state of Missouri, honoring a Eureka High student who is inspiring others through her battle with Sanfilippo syndrome, a rare genetic disease that affects the central nervous system and other organs.
