Rockwood Celebrates 2026-2027 Grade-Level Teachers of the Year
Ellisville Elementary's Katie Brown, LaSalle Springs Middle's Jennifer Houchins and Rockwood Summit High's Sarah Moonier and are the Rockwood School District's 2026-2027 grade-level Teachers of the Year!
These three outstanding educators were chosen from among our 31 building-level Teachers of the Year and are under consideration to be named Rockwood’s district Teacher of the Year, which will be announced at the ROSE Awards Ceremony on May 3.
Students, staff and family members surprised these three teachers with the good news at their schools on Wednesday, April 8. Brown and Houchins teach vocal music at their respective schools, and Moonier teaches science.

Representatives from more than 90 institutions of higher learning, military/ROTC branches and trade schools will be in attendance at this year’s Rockwood/Parkway Regional College Fair, which takes place from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at the Greensfelder Rec Complex at Queeny Park.

A total of seven Rockwood School District students have been selected for the 2026 Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri's top academic students in the graduating class of 2026.

A Marquette senior and co-editor-in-chief of the Messenger student media outlet, Samantha Perz plans to attend the University of Georgia Honors College as a double major in psychology and elementary education, with a minor in dance.

All four Rockwood School District high schools -- Eureka, Lafayette, Marquette and Rockwood Summit -- have chosen their Glory of Missouri Award recipients for 2026.
