Rockwood Communications Team Earns Multiple State Awards

The Rockwood School District has been recognized by the Missouri School Public Relations Association (MOSPRA) for its efforts to inform our community across multiple channels. Each year, MOSPRA gives its members the opportunity to have their work evaluated by PR professionals and measured against industry standards through its Communications Awards Program.

Rockwood earned two Excellence awards for its Annual Report to the Community website and weekly Rockwood eNewsletter to the community. Both the Annual Report site and eNews reflect the work and collaboration of the entire Rockwood Communications team. The Annual Report was designed and is maintained by Senior Webmaster Terra Miller, and eNews is produced by Communications Coordinator David Morrison.

Rockwood also received five Merit awards for the “Conversations with Dr. Curtis Cain” video series (produced by Digital Communications Specialist Curtis Brennecke), the “Faces of Rockwood -- Johnnie Jordan, Bus Driver” and “Rockwood Celebrates our Class of 2023 with Senior Walks” videos (by Brennecke) social media for the Rockwood Facebook page (maintained by Morrison) and writing for the story “Rockwood Graduate Clare Marie Kuebler Making the Most of Her Time as Miss Missouri” (by Morrison).

“We are humbled and honored to receive this recognition on behalf of the Rockwood School District,” said Chief Communications Officer Mary LaPak. “It is not only an affirmation of our efforts to keep our students, staff, families and community informed but also a reflection of the tremendous and inspiring work our staff and students are engaged in that we are fortunate to have an opportunity to share.”

The Rockwood Communications team was recognized during the MOSPRA Fall Conference, held Oct. 26-29 in Springfield.
