Rockwood Early Childhood Preschool Enrollment Now Open
Rockwood Early Childhood Education is offering open preschool enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year to families in our community.
Children must be at least 3 years old by Aug. 1, 2025, to be eligible for the 2025-2026 school year. Rockwood Early Childhood offers half-day preschool at its Clarkson Valley, Eureka and Vandover centers, as well as full-day preschool at its three centers and Early Childhood classrooms at all four Rockwood high schools.
Rockwood's preschool programs are led by teachers who are certified by the state of Missouri in Early Childhood and/or Early Childhood Special Education. The program has its own curriculum that is aligned with Rockwood's kindergarten curriculum and engages students in rich academic and social experiences in a warm, welcoming environment.
Rockwood Early Childhood provides an environment where all children will grow to their unique potential in a fun, safe and collaborative learning community. Rockwood Early Childhood has resources available to meet the individualized needs of learners and a long-standing reputation for excellence in educating children from birth to kindergarten entrance in programs including such as Parents as Teachers, mini-preschool, developmental screening and special education.

More than 350 Rockwood School District students, groups and staff members were honored for their achievements during the Board of Education Awards Ceremony on May 15 at Lafayette High.
During their last day of classes, Rockwood School District seniors headed back to their former elementary and middle schools to take one more trip around campus and interact with some of the educators who helped get them where they are today during Senior Walks.
In a significant step toward unity and collaboration, the Rockwood Board of Education, members of the superintendent’s cabinet, leadership from the Rockwood National Education Association and members of the respective negotiations teams came together May 7 for a restorative conversation. This dedicated time together followed seven months of negotiations that culminated in an agreement that was ratified by RNEA members in March.
At this year's ROSE Award Ceremony, Lafayette High band director Brad Balog was named Rockwood School District’s 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year.
