Rockwood Educators Earn Awards for Engaging Students with Inclusive Classroom Displays

The Rockwood Educational Access Department presented certificates to educators at 18 different Rockwood schools and centers for winning buildingwide contests centered on creating classroom or hallway displays that cultivated inclusion and belonging in their school communities.

The displays took a variety of different forms, but all of them included elements of students expressing their personalities and interests through pictures, words and artwork. These projects were then prominently displayed in the educators' classrooms -- or the hallways outside their rooms -- to cultivate a sense of belonging through an opportunity for our students to see themselves in their learning environment.

Rockwood Director of Educational Access Dr. Colette Higgins presented the awards at the educators' schools on Oct. 8-10, giving colleagues and students the chance to celebrate this honor.
