Rockwood High School Students Earn Spots in All-District Honor Choirs

Rockwood High School Students Earn Spots in All-District Honor Choirs
A total of 48 Rockwood School District students representing all four high schools have been selected to the St. Louis Suburban MMEA (Missouri Music Educators Association) District mixed and treble honor choirs!
A total of 29 Rockwood students earned spots in the Mixed Choir in the soprano, alto, tenor and bass vocal ranges, with 14 students also qualifying to audition for the All-State choir. A total of 19 Rockwood students earned spots in the Treble Choir in soprano and alto.
The students will participate in rehearsals and a clinic and perform in a concert on Nov. 8 at Pattonville High. All-State auditions will also be held at Pattonville on that day.

More than 80 Rockwood School District administrators, staff members, parents, Board of Education members, district safety officers and school resource officers (SROs) and representatives from local police and fire departments met for the district's annual Crisis Planning Workshop at the Administrative Annex in Eureka on Oct. 2.

The Rockwood Board of Education approved the 2026 tax rate at its Sept. 29 meeting. The rate, approved by the Missouri State Auditor, is $3.8920. This is an increase of $0.0104 from last year’s tax rate of $3.8816. A small increase is typical in a non-reassessment year, and 2026 is a non-reassessment year.

A total of 26 Rockwood students have been named semifinalists for the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Student leaders from the Lafayette High Women in STEM chapter attended the Women in Cable and Telecommunications Midwest “Tech it Out” Conference at World Wide Technology on Sept. 24.
