Rockwood High Schools Among Nation's Best in Latest U.S. News & World Report Rankings

All four high schools in Rockwood School District are ranked among the top 21 in Missouri and the top 12 percent of all public high schools in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report's "2024 Best U.S. High Schools" list.

According to the list, which was last updated in April, Lafayette High is ranked fifth in Missouri, Marquette High is ranked 11th, Rockwood Summit High is ranked 14th, and Eureka High is ranked 21st. All are within the top 6 percent of the nearly 400 high schools ranked in the state and within the top 1,984 nationally of the nearly 18,000 high schools surveyed by U.S. News & World Report.

The publication ranks high schools on factors such as performance on state assessments for math, reading and science, college readiness, curriculum breadth, underserved student performance and graduation rates.

All four Rockwood high schools also ranked in the top 14 -- top 4 percent -- in the state in U.S. News & World Report's College Readiness Index, which is based on Advanced Placement (AP) participation rates and scores. Lafayette, Marquette and Rockwood Summit are also ranked in the top 347 of 500 high schools nationally designated as "Best STEM High Schools," honoring schools with high participation and performance in AP math and science courses.
