Rockwood Holds 'Safe and Caring Schools' Strategic Plan Community Engagement Meeting
More than 30 members of the Rockwood community took part in our fourth and final five-year strategic plan community engagement meeting Feb. 11 at Marquette High.
The meeting, on the theme of "Safe and Caring Schools," included information and discussion about topics such as the physical, mental and emotional health and safety measures Rockwood has in place, as well as the multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) that the district uses to meet the needs of all students. Participants then shared their thoughts on what they learned and what they felt having safe and caring schools means in Rockwood.
Thank you to all who attended. At this point in the strategic planning process:
- The Strategic Plan Steering Committee will review feedback at its next meeting (Feb. 25).
- Feedback collected since last May and evaluated along the way by the steering committee will be synthesized into actionable items and strategies within four goal areas: Nurturing Learning, Fiscal Responsibility, Highly Qualified Staff and Safe and Caring Schools.
- A draft plan will be developed and shared with Rockwood patrons for feedback.
- The steering committee will revisit the plan based upon that feedback.
- The plan will be presented to the Board of Education for approval.
