Rockwood Students Earn Awards, Accolades at South Tech

Rockwood Students Earn Awards, Accolades at South Tech
Rockwood School District students and recent graduates earned a variety of honors at South Tech High School over the final two months of the school year, from Tops at Tech honors to STAR Awards to SkillsUSA state medals to participating in a carpentry signing day.

Tops at Tech
Recent Rockwood graduates from all four high schools earned "Tops at Tech" honors from South Tech, the school's annual recognition to honor its most exceptional career and technical education students. Instructor nominations are based on a student’s professionalism, success in skill attainment and curriculum mastery, responsibility and willingness to go above and beyond and support their fellow classmates.
Here are the 2026 Rockwood graduates who were honored:
- Landon Beck, Marquette, Welding
- Russell Kempf, Rockwood Summit, HVAC
- Keegan Marshall, Eureka, Culinary Arts
- Kai Radake, Rockwood Summit, Design and Entrepreneurship
- Trey Terranova, Lafayette, Auto Collision Repair
Carpentry Signing Day
Recent Marquette graduate Vinny Jauch was one of 14 South Tech carpentry students honored at a May Signing Day celebration.
Students at the event represented a variety of career pathways, including apprenticeships, direct employment and college programs connected to the construction industry. Jauch signed to work at the St. Louis-based PARIC construction engineering company.

SkillsUSA Missouri State Medalists
A total of five Rockwood students and recent graduates earned medals at the SkillsUSA Missouri state competition in April.
Rockwood's medalists are:
- Clare Schmelz, Eureka, Advertising Design - Tech Info Test, Graphic Design, Gold
- Trey Terranova, Lafayette, Collison Repair Technology -Tech Info Test, Auto Collision Repair, Gold, and Collision Repair Technology, Auto Collision Repair, Silver
- Micah Rodgers, Marquette, Graphic Communications - Tech Info Test, Graphic Design, Silver
- Alex Sauter, Rockwood Summit, Carpentry - Tech Info Test, Construction Innovations, Silver
- Connor Cattau, Eureka, Collision Repair Technology - Tech Info Test, Auto Collision Repair, Bronze
STAR Awards
Rockwood students earned STAR Awards over March and April, South Tech's monthly recognition program that gives students and staff a way to recognize each other for their kindness, hard work and positive impact throughout the school.
Rockwood STAR recipients were:

- Jeremiah Bryant, Eureka, Web and Computer Programming
- Megan Moran, Rockwood Summit, Health Sciences

May 22 marked the last day of the 2025-2026 school year in the Rockwood School District. All around the district, students and staff members ended another great school year with hugs, high-fives, waves and well-wishes.

The Rockwood Board of Education held its final Student Advisory Group meeting of the school year May 19 at Marquette High, before the regularly scheduled Board meeting and Board Awards ceremony.

More than 440 Rockwood School District students, groups and staff members were honored for their achievements during the Board of Education Awards Ceremony on May 19 at Marquette High.

The Rockwood School District celebrated our more than 1,600 graduates in the Class of 2026 at commencement ceremonies on May 9, 11 and 12 at the Family Arena in St. Charles.
