Rockwood Students Earn Awards, Advance to Next Stage at Regional Robotics Tournament
Rockwood School District students on eight robotics teams participated in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) Challenge Missouri Regional Championship at Francis Howell High on Jan. 17, with three teams earning awards and two earning the chance to advance to an FLL spotlight event in the spring.
Two teams including Rockwood students - Tinker Whales and Sea Dragons - were among six teams from the event that now have the opportunity to advance to a national FLL event later this spring, in locales such as California and Texas. Master Builders, another team including Rockwood students, earned the first-place Core Values award, recognizing teams that demonstrate outstanding enthusiasm, sportsmanship, respect for their own team members and exceptional support for other teams throughout the tournament.
Five other teams including Rockwood students - Chaotic Robotic, Galaxy Bots, Golden Falcons, Grrave Diggers and Raiders of the Lost Spark - were also among the 35 teams from around the region who qualified to compete at the Jan. 17 event.

The Rockwood School District earned the 2025-2026 Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). This is the 26th straight year that Rockwood has earned an MBA from ASBO.
