Rockwood Students Qualify for National, International Geography, History, Science Bee Events
A total of 14 Rockwood School District students from three schools recently qualified for the national and international levels of competition at International Academic Competitions (IAC) regional Geography, History and Science Bee events.
Rockwood students from Crestview Middle, LaSalle Springs Middle and Wild Horse Elementary competed in geography, history and science at the St. Louis Regional Finals on Feb. 1.
IAC promotes history, geography and science education through quiz tournaments and Olympiads in more than 50 countries. Students qualify for IAC national and international level events by placing among the top participants at their grade levels in regional finals.
The National Geography, History and Science Bee championships will be held in Orlando, Florida, from May 22-26, and the US History Bee will take place April 25 in Arlington, Virginia. International championships are held every other year, with the International History Olympiad being held this summer in Paris, France.
