Student Advisory Group Holds 3rd Meeting of 2025-2026 School Year

The Rockwood Board of Education held its third Student Advisory Group meeting of the school year March 5 at Lafayette High, before the regularly scheduled Board meeting and Board Awards ceremony.

An initiative of the Board's Communications, Outreach and Public Engagement (COPE) Committee, the Student Advisory Group consists of juniors and seniors from Eureka, Lafayette, Marquette and Rockwood Summit high schools and the Pathways Wellness Center. Group meetings are opportunities for Board members to connect with, and hear directly from, Rockwood students.

The meeting included discussions around attendance and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for school work. Missouri Representative Philip Oehlerking was in attendance and shared information about pending legislation related to AI and data centers.

Members of the Student Advisory Group are Caleb Pickens and Andie Belz (Eureka High); Noah Bairu and Vedha Inampudi (Lafayette High); Mithra Menon and Ellie Pagan (Marquette High); Lauren Dibble (Marquette and Pathways Wellness Center); Broderick Davenport and Courtney Duff (Rockwood Summit High); and Marley Vanderveld (Pathways Wellness Center).
