U.S. News & World Report Ranks Rockwood Schools High in State, Nation
All four high schools in Rockwood School District are ranked among the top 61 in Missouri and the top 28 percent of all public high schools in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report's "2025-2026 Best U.S. High Schools" list.
According to the list, which was updated Aug. 18, Lafayette High is ranked fifth in Missouri, Marquette High is ranked 15th, Eureka High is ranked 23rd, and Rockwood Summit High is ranked 61st. All are within the top 17 percent of the nearly 400 high schools ranked in the state and within the top 4,868 nationally of the nearly 18,000 high schools surveyed by U.S. News & World Report.
The publication ranks high schools on factors such as performance on state assessments for math, reading and science, college readiness, curriculum breadth, underserved student performance and graduation rates.
All four Rockwood high schools also ranked in the top 13 -- top 4 percent -- in the state and top 13 percent in the nation in U.S. News & World Report's College Readiness Index, which is based on Advanced Placement (AP) participation rates and scores. Lafayette and Marquette and Rockwood Summit are also ranked in the top 228 of 500 high schools nationally designated as "Best STEM High Schools," honoring schools with high participation and performance in AP math and science courses.

A total of 21 Rockwood School District students have been named finalists for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Building on a longstanding tradition of educational excellence in St. Louis County, the boards of education for the Parkway and Rockwood school districts held a historic joint work session on March 4 at the Junior Achievement offices in Chesterfield.
