To assist students as they prepare for college and careers, Rockwood will administer the PreACT to our high school sophomores during the school day at no cost to families. The PreACT is designed to provide students practice and feedback before taking the ACT. Rockwood offers the ACT to all high school students during the spring of their junior year.
This PreACT will include four curriculum-based, multiple-choice tests:
As part of PreACT testing, students will be asked to pre-register their information. The following fields are required for PreACT to score this test and deliver the results to the student and families: name, mailing address, date of birth, city, state and zip code.
In addition, PreACT will ask students a series of questions regarding their interests, past courses/grades, and background/demographic information, such as religion and family financial components. Because data privacy and security for our students and families is always a high priority in Rockwood, we wanted to share the scope of questions being asked in connection with the upcoming PreACT. If you would like to read the complete list of questions, refer to the document on the following PreACT website: http://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/ACT-StudentInfoBooklet.pdf
Please note: If at any point during the pre-test registration process a student doesn’t know the answer or feels uncomfortable providing a response he or she may skip that question.
How does ACT use the PreACT data they have collected?
ACT uses the data from the PreACT pre-test administration paperwork to help students make a meaningful connection between high school and life after high school. The student report following the PreACT test will include connections among ACT subject scores, interests and grades earned at the time this PreACT was administered. ACT only shares data with colleges, universities and scholarship agencies if the students choose to participate in the EOS program (Educational Opportunity Service) during the pre-test administration paperwork. As students complete their answer sheet information, there is a section to opt-in to the EOS program.
