Board of Education Approves Hire of Jessica Sumner as Kehrs Mill Elementary Assistant Principal
May 19, 2023
The Rockwood Board of Education has approved the hiring of Jessica Sumner as the new assistant principal at Kehrs Mill Elementary, beginning July 1. She is replacing Dr. Jason Lievanos, who will be the new principal at Wildwood Middle.
Currently, Sumner is an assistant principal at Crestview Middle, a position she has held for the past two years. Prior to that, she was a second-grade teacher at Green Pines Elementary for three years after having taught for seven years in the Parkway School District.
Sumner earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and both a Master of Science in Educational Administration and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from Southwest Baptist University. Sumner is a graduate of Eureka High and began her career as a student teacher at Pond Elementary.
“We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Sumner to the Kehrs Mill community,” said Kehrs Mill Principal Dr. Elizabeth Sciarratta. “Her passion for kids is evident, and she exudes warmth and energy. We are excited for her to join our team!”
She lives with her husband, Jon, who is the activities director at Lafayette High, and their four children in Wildwood.
