Rockwood Celebrates 2023 Cornerstone Award Recipients
On Thursday, Nov. 17, the Cornerstone Awards patrol crisscrossed the district to honor this year’s six recipients of the Cornerstone Award.
The Cornerstone Award celebrates the outstanding support staff members who serve our students and staff every day. These six exceptional staff members were chosen by the Cornerstone Committee from a pool of nearly 70 nominees from around the district. They will be honored at our annual ROSE Awards ceremony in the spring.
Congratulations to these employees, and thank you for the vital role you play in Rockwood! See their photos below, along with a quote from one of their nominators.
Pam Esker - Speech-Language Pathologist at Fairway Elementary
“Pam probably has around 20 students on her caseload for speech services, but I can tell you that she knows, loves and has a relationship with all 385 Fairway Eagles.”
Jessica Hausman - Library Assistant at Rockwood Summit High
“Jessica embodies Rockwood's mission of doing whatever it takes to help each student succeed. She ensures that they have the tools and resources they need to succeed.”
Nathan Jones - Lead Custodian at LaSalle Springs Middle
“He has a special way of making everyone in his sphere of influence feel seen, heard and cared for.”
Mark Jundt - Custodian at Westridge Elementary
“Not only does he keep Westridge clean and very presentable, he is kind and friendly to all staff and students. When he sees a need, he is quick to assist or get it done!”
Bernice Robinson - Adventure Club Facilitator at Pond Elementary
“Bernice consistently conveys how much she enjoys and cares for her children in every conversation."
Dani Tajkowski - Technology Support Specialist for Rockwood School District
“Dani takes on multiple roles in the district. She spends many hours on the phone to help support all of her buildings.”
