Rockwood Students Earn Top Finishes at State Scholastic Chess Championship

Students from Crestview Middle and Selvidge Middle earned top finishes and trophies at the 2023 Missouri State Scholastic Chess Championship in Columbia on March 18.

A team from Crestview consisting of students Adithya Ganesh, Vidyuth Kamesh, Aaryan and Advika Srivastava and Sudeep Vadderaju finished second in the K-8 Division. 

The Selvidge team of Saketh Kruthin Akshinthala, Gabriel Boyd, Timmy Gill, Rajan Sankarasubramanian, Tanish Sattanathan and Sujay Sureshkumar finished third in the K-8 Division.

Kamesh and Sureshkumar also earned individual trophies in their division, placing seventh and eighth -- respectively -- out of 88 competitors.
