Junior Achievement (JA) is a national organization with a goal of giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their futures and make smart academic and economic choices.

JA's Company Program challenges high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community and teaches them practical skills required to conceptualize, capitalize and manage their own business venture. Community volunteers and mentors provide real-world guidance and experience to the student-led startup.

Overall, five Rockwood teams competed in the JA of Greater St. Louis spring showcase. A team from the Marquette High chapter earned first place with its company, STL Threads. A team from Rockwood Summit earned second with its business idea, 314-The-People, and a team from Lafayette High earned third.

Congratulations to these outstanding students and aspiring entrepreneurs!
