“Earning the MBA for the 22nd consecutive year is an outstanding achievement for our Finance Department,” said Chief Financial Officer Paul Northington. “We are committed to maintaining an environment of efficient and effective business operations, fiscal responsibility and transparency in Rockwood. Our team, under the leadership of Director of Finance Dan Steinbruegge, earns consistent recognition at the state and national level for our exemplary budgetary practices and fiscal management. We are proud of the work that we do on behalf of the district and Rockwood taxpayers.”

ASBO International’s MBA and Pathway to the MBA promote and recognize best budget presentation practices in school districts. Participants submit their applications and budget documents to a panel of school financial professionals who review the materials for compliance with the MBA Criteria Checklist and other requirements and provide expert feedback that districts can use to improve their budget documents.

Districts that successfully demonstrate they have met the necessary program requirements may earn either the MBA or Pathway to the MBA, an introductory program that allows districts to ease into full MBA Compliance.

The Rockwood Finance Department regularly earns top honors for its excellent financial management. This includes a AAA rating from Standard & Poor’s, a recognition earned by only four school districts in the state of Missouri.
