Parkway, Rockwood community aquatics programs to combine under Community Ed
Since 2014, the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts have partnered to provide a comprehensive Community Ed program for residents of both districts. Starting this August, the districts will expand the Community Ed partnership by combining their respective community aquatics programs, including a combined learn-to-swim program, competitive swim club and other recreational aquatics programs for youth and adults.
The combined aquatics offerings will be rolled out over the next two years as follows:
-
Learn-to-swim programs and other recreational aquatics programs for youth and adults: Combined program starting August 2023
-
Swim Clubs: Combined program starting August 2024
Parkway and Rockwood aquatics staff have been meeting since September 2022 to explore the feasibility of a combined program and believe there is an opportunity to provide an enhanced experience while creating something special for aquatics families and the St. Louis region. In addition to sharing information with both district Boards of Education at their respective board meetings in March, updates have been shared with families of the aquatics programs and an informational webpage has been available to provide updates to the community.
An open house will be held later this spring for aquatics families to learn more, get answers to questions and meet with aquatics staff.
For more information, visit the community aquatics informational webpage which provides the most current information.
We’re hiring aquatics staff! Join the Community Ed team as a swim school instructor or site supervisor. Must be age 14 or older. Training provided. Learn more and apply today.
