Parkway & Rockwood School Districts extend Community Ed partnership
In the past week, both Parkway and Rockwood school districts approved an ongoing partnership, thus continuing the combined effort of providing programs through Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed.
Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership between the Parkway and Rockwood school districts that provide high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for youth, families and adults in both districts.
The current partnership between the two districts has been in place since July 1, 2014, marking eight successful years of the collaboration thus far. The approved extension continues the partnership through June 30, 2034, for a total of 20 years, and allows Community Ed to continue in its work in providing excellent programming, camps and classes to the community.
“The partnership has resulted in expanded and enhanced programs for families in Rockwood,” said Dr. Timothy Ricker, interim superintendent of the Rockwood School District. “We look forward to continuing this partnership with Parkway to provide additional opportunities for our students and families.”
Dr. Keith Marty, superintendent of the Parkway School District, said, “The programs offered by Community Ed continue to provide added value and benefit for Parkway families. Through this partnership, Parkway and Rockwood have created a national model for Community Ed for what can be achieved when school districts proactively work together.”
