What a week! We welcomed our Lancer staff back on Wednesday morning, had our Freshman Parent and Guardian meeting on Wednesday evening, had Freshman Orientation with our Link Crew Leaders on Thursday, and hosted an open building today! We have had a lot of fun seeing so many new faces, and we love having your energy in the building. We can’t wait to have everyone back on Monday. It’s a good year to have a good year!

Stay Connected with ParentSquare: Rockwood uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using the email address and phone number listed in Infinite Campus. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. Use this link for sign-up information.
First Day of School - Monday, August 22, 2022: The school building opens at 8:00 a.m. Please do not arrive at LHS prior to 8:00 a.m. The school day begins at 8:28 a.m. and ends at 3:17 p.m.
Chromebooks: If you have not received your Chromebook, we ask that you visit the Library on Monday so that one can be issued to you. Please be sure to log into your Chromebook prior to your first class to check your access to your Google account. If you need assistance, please use thislinkfor support.

Student Yearbook Pictures: Families will be able to order pictures online at www.inter-state.comusing LHS school code70491YA.
Open House - August 31, 2022: We will host our Open House on Wednesday, August 31, beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the Main Gym. Student speakers and entertainment will kick-off the evening followed by your chance to walk your student’s schedule and meet teachers.

What’s New in Rockwood?: There are a number of items that are new or changing across the district that we would like you to be aware of, including a new communication system, a new visitor management system, school meal changes, the expansion of Hazel Health services as well as an update to Rockwood’s Safe Together plan. For all the details on what’s new in Rockwood this year, pleasevisit the district website.
Visiting Lafayette and Other Rockwood Schools: Rockwood has moved to a new visitor sign in/sign out system called School Pass. While additional information will come out soon, we wanted you to be aware of the new process that is in place for when you visit Lafayette. To help with the process, please make sure you bring your driver's license the first time you visit Lafayette. Once you establish your PIN, you will not need your driver's license.
Outside Food Delivery Reminder: Please remember that Lafayette does NOT allow food delivery by outside vendors (ex. Uber Eats, Door Dash, restaurants, etc.). If a student forgets to bring lunch, the student should see the grade-level administrator.
School Meal Information for 2022-2023: Please reference this link to access current meal information, pricing, and your student’s MySchoolBucks account: Child Nutrition Back To School Information 2022-23, Meal Prices 2022-23. Parents may use their credit cards and deposit funds into meal accounts on the Myschoolbucks app or website: www.myschoolbucks.com. Cashiers will be happy to deposit money (cash or checks) into meal accounts for everyone at the register but will be unable to provide change for any cash given.

Rockwood Equity Parent Advisory Council (REPAC):All interested parents are welcome to complete this form in an effort to have at least one parent representative from each school on the REPAC committee.
MSHSAA Eligibility Requirements: All students who wish to participate in a MSHSAA activity/sport must be enrolled in 3.0 credits per semester. Non-credit classes such as study hall, office aid, etc. that do NOT count towards credits do not apply towards those 3.0 credits needed.
