Class of 2023 Students and Families:
We are well on our way to a great Senior Year! I have enjoyed working with several Lancers during the early weeks of this semester and look forward to our upcoming Homecoming festivities.

Schedule for Week of September 19 - 23: The schedule will be B, C, B, C, A. Don’t forget, Monday, September 19 is a LATE START day. School starts at 9:58 am. Please remind your student to be on time!

Homecoming Information:

Male Escadrille - Is your son interested in performing with the Male Escadrille team during halftime of the powder puff game and during the pep assembly? Make sure they fill out the Google Form and pay $5 (cash or check) either before the first practice in the Senior office (Room 215) or at the first practice. They must attend 2 of the 3 practices to perform (practice dates, times and more information is on the form.

Homecoming Parade: The Lafayette High School Homecoming Parade will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, beginning at Green Pines Elementary School and ending in the Pool Side- Lower Parking Lot at Lafayette High School. If your athletic team, club, or community organization would like to participate in the LHS Homecoming Parade or you would like to volunteer, please submit this Homecoming Float Participation Form NO LATER THAN 4 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022. The only requirement for participation is providing your own candy to be HANDED to the crowd along the parade route as well as proper adult supervision of students in your group. No candy may be thrown at any time. All candy must be distributed by individuals from your group walking beside your float (if applicable) to parade spectators. The practice is necessitated by safety concerns and to adhere to parade expectations.

Class of 2023 - Diploma and Name Pronunciation: Parents, your Senior received information today to fill out the following Google Form so that we have their proper name listed on their diploma and in the graduation program. This form MUST BE FILLED OUT ON YOUR STUDENT’S RSDMO GOOGLE ACCOUNT. Please make sure they enter their first name, middle name, and last name using upper and lower case letters. It is important that they enter accurate information since we will use this entry for how their name will appear on your diploma and in the graduation program. Example: John George Smith, Jr. – not JOHN GEORGE SMITH, JR. If their name includes a title (suffix) such as Jr., II, or III, remember to include it as well.

A+ Registration for Seniors: The A+ Scholarship Program is run by Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development and provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools. To apply for the LHS A+ program please complete the online application. The last day for Seniors to enroll in A+ is Wednesday, September 28, 2022. To learn more about the A+ program students can visit Ms. Brawner in the counseling office or check out the LHS A+ website.

Visiting Lafayette and Other Rockwood Schools: Rockwood has moved to a new visitor sign in/sign out system called School Pass. While additional information will come out soon, we wanted you to be aware , but I wanted you to be aware of the new process that is in place for when you visit Lafayette. To help with the process, please make sure you bring your driver's license the first time you visit Lafayette. Once you establish your PIN, you will not need your driver's license.

Lunch and Outside Food Delivery
Lafayette does NOT allow food delivery by outside vendors (ex.: Uber Eats, Door Dash, restaurants, etc.). If a student has forgotten lunch, the student should see the grade-level administrator.

School Meal Information for 2022-2023: Meal Prices 2022-23 Traditionally RSD have offered a regular priced lunch and a super priced lunch. CNS have eliminated the super priced lunch and will be charging just one meal price in an effort to keep the serving lines moving. Child Nutrition Services will not be providing cash back at the registers. Cashiers will be happy to deposit money (cash or checks) into meal accounts for everyone at the register, but we will be unable to provide change for any cash given. Parents and teachers may use their credit cards and deposit funds into meal accounts on the Myschoolbucks app or website www.myschoolbucks.com. Lafayette Student Athletics, Activities, Clubs, and Organizations 2022-2023

MSHSAA Eligibility Requirements: All students who wish to participate in a MSHSAA activity/sport must be enrolled in 3.0 credits per semester. Non-credit classes such as study hall, office aid, etc. that do NOT count towards credits do not apply towards those 3.0 credits needed.
