Class of 2024 Students and Families:
We are looking forward to seeing many of you this evening at the parade (5:30 p.m.) and the football game (7:15 p.m.). It has been a fun week with all the dress-up days and games during lunch. Students and staff participated and had fun. Tomorrow is our homecoming dance from 7:30 - 10 p.m. If you are picking up your student please do so at the latest by 10:00 p.m.

Rockwood College Fair: The Rockwood School District is hosting their annual college fair on Sunday, October 2 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Marquette High School. There will be over 110 participating colleges, giving students an amazing opportunity to start their college search or ask all their questions about this application season. Please sign up for the fair here.

Homecoming Dance Tickets: Tickets will be sold using Hometown Ticketing. Students scan the QR code on the flyer Homecoming Flyer 2022 and purchase tickets. AP Exam Registration: AP exam registration opens on Tuesday, October 4. Please visit the LHS AP website for more information.

Advisory Meeting: Please plan on attending the advisory meetings to give your input. Once we schedule it I will send an email through Parent Square.

Schedule for Week of October 3- 7: The schedule will be No school Monday (PD day for staff) B, C, B, C. Sign up for AcLab the day before every B-day. Sign up with teachers to review, get help, and do missing work.

Make-up Pictures: Inter-State Studios will be at LHS in Room 180 on Oct. 6 during AcLab to take Make-Up Photos for all students who have missed getting pictures taken. This will be the FINAL CHANCE to get a photo taken for your ID/Yearbook photo. You will receive a pass from your class office the week of the photo. Please dress appropriately for your picture. South Tech Open House is coming up. I encourage any interested students to attend an Open House and see the school for themselves. It's pretty impressive!

LHS PSAT - October 12: The PSAT will be offered as an optional assessment for junior students on Wednesday, October 12th at LHS. The PSAT is for entrance to the National Merit Scholarship Program, it is not a college admittance exam. Registration opens on September 1st. Registration and payment information can be found on the LHS PSAT webpage. Registration is available online from September 1-15, 2022. A+ Program: The A+ Scholarship Program is run by the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development and provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of A+ designated high schools who attend a participating public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools. To apply for the LHS A+ program please complete the online application. To learn more about the A+ program students can visit Ms. Brawner in the counseling office or check out the LHS A+ website.

Lunch and Outside Food Delivery
Lafayette does NOT allow food delivery by outside vendors (ex.: Uber Eats, Door Dash, restaurants, etc.). If a student has forgotten lunch, the student should see the grade-level administrator.

For information about the LHS Library, check out 3 Things You Should Know for this month’s highlights. Please see this infographic for an overview of the resources available to our students in the library. Parents have the ability to receive daily email notifications regarding the materials their child has checked out of the school library. Parents wishing to receive these daily emails should contact the Lafayette librarians to activate this feature.

MSHSAA Eligibility Requirements: All students who wish to participate in an MSHSAA activity/sport must be enrolled in 3.0 credits per semester. A “Sweet” Hello Candy Donation Request: Our students are back in the halls and our office seems to be the place for candy. Thank you to all the families who have donated candy this year. If you would like to use this link for Amazon, the candy will be sent directly to our office. Please feel free to continue to donate so our juniors have a place to stop by and pick up a piece of candy they enjoy. We appreciate all of you.

Lafayette High School Season Passes: Rockwood School District wants all families and fans to attend and enjoy games across the school district. Whether you purchase the All Rockwood Event Pass or the Lafayette Specific Pass, your purchase directly benefits Lafayette High School. Visiting Lafayette and Other Rockwood Schools: Rockwood has moved to a new visitor sign-in/sign-out system called School Pass. While additional information will come out soon, we wanted you to be aware , but I wanted you to be aware of the new process that is in place for when you visit Lafayette. To help with the process, please make sure you bring your driver's license the first time you visit Lafayette. Once you establish your PIN, you will not need your driver's license.
Rockwood uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text, and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using the email address and phone number listed in Infinite Campus. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified. Use this link for sign-up information.

Parking: Parking Application Information If you need to pick up a pass after you complete the online application feel free to stop by the junior office in room 261 after the end of the school day from 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

I will be at the west side doors every morning to greet all those who come through that door. Junior class Lancers if you need to speak to me before the school day starts you will find me at this location. If you miss any of my newsletters you will find them on our LHS website and in previous Parent Square mailings.
