February 21, 2020

Good Morning, Wildwood!

Today is Friday, February 21st and an A day.

There are no after school activities today.

Today is the day! It is Forbidden Friday. Please Remember to bring your extra cash with you to lunch as you will not be permitted to go back to your locker during lunch.

The month of February is Black History Month. The Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. As we go through the month of February we plan to highlight some of these achievements from the prominent figures that helped build our country.

Did you know that Jesse Owens was a track-and-field athlete who set a world record in the long jump at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin—and went unrivaled for 25 years?  He won four gold medals at the Olympics that year in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, along with the 100-meter relay and other events off the track. In 1976, Owens received the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 1990.

The Wildwood community is invited to attend the Orchestra's concert Monday night at 7:00 in the Commons.  The 8th grade orchestra is featured, with help from advanced 7th graders.

Come and support your friends in Orchestra!

Best Buddies will have a kick ball game in the gym on March 4th after school. The event is open to all students and teachers as well.

Today there are no student birthdays, however, over the weekend Happy Birthday to:

Lindsay Golden

Carter Nolfo

Ella Fusco

Alexis Gramlich

And to Mr. Betz, our 8th grade Social Studies Teacher, Happy Birthday this weekend!

If those students would please come to the office for a birthday surprise at this time!

February's Character Word: "Honesty"

Honesty is defined as a moral character that is a positive and virtuous attribute. An honest person has integrity, truthfulness, is loyal and fair, and strives to do the right thing. As we go through our day let's think of how we can use honesty to make our school and relationships better for everyone.

William Shakespeare once said, "No legacy is so rich as honesty.

At this time would everyone please stand for the pledge of allegiance.

Everyone have a "Fantastically Forbidden Friday"!
