October 15, 2019

Good Morning, Wildwood!

Today is Tuesday, October 15th and an A day.

This week's lesson on the 12 steps towards self-care.  This week's lesson in self-care is to "If it feels wrong, don't do it."

Afterschool Activities today are:

Art Club with Mr. Melton

Musical Rehearsal with mrs. Studt

Social Justice with Ms. Porter

Strings in Service with Mrs. Lega

Yearbook with Mrs. Gamel

And a reminder that today is the last Cross Country practice before the meet on Friday!  Meet Mrs. Moosmann and Mrs. Holz in the gym after school for practice until 3:40.  Best of luck to all of you on Friday after school, as you show your school spirit and give your very best to represent your school for the meet!

This Thursday, Oct 17, The Student Council Meeting is replaced by the Fairway Elementary Got Your Back Pack after school field trip. Parent Permission Forms are due Tuesday 10-15.  Check classroom for a listing of forms received. See Mrs. Sellenriek with questions.

Also, Best Buddies is having their first ever kickball game today after school from 2:45-3:30ish.  Look for Mrs. Klages in the gym after school today to participate.

The Rockwood Middle School Cross Country Meet is this Friday, October, 18th at Crestview Middle!  It is a great way to see our WMS students shine outside of the classroom!  It is also sure to be a great way to start the weekend with sunshine, 70 degree weather, and lots of inspiring moments along the course!

Wildwood Science and Technology Club needs interested students to fill out the survey in Google Classroom.  This is your chance to help choose what projects we get to do during our meeting times.  -- See Mrs. Kaiser, or Mr. Henson with any questions about the club.

6th grade Orchestra student Edmond Chen will represent WMS in the St. Louis All-Suburban 6th Grade Honor Orchestra.  He will join other advanced students in Orchestra from across St. Louis County.  Congratulations!

On Wednesday October 16th, everyone that purchases a meal from the cafeteria will receive a free power ball. The powe rball is a small energy food source shaped like a ball.

In honor of those men and women who have fought the battle of breast cancer in the month of October we have "Wear Pink Wednesday's" in the month of October. Please plan to wear your pink each Wednesday in honor of our loved ones!

Students and staff, we learned yesterday that we will have to continue with activity buses on Tuesday's and Thursday's at 4:30 pm until the end of this month. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will communicate with parents this Friday about the recent change.

Students, remember to bring in your plastic bottle caps to be donated and placed in the bins on the stage. We would love your support in keeping our environment clean.

October's Character Word: "Respect"

As we go through this month of October, let's think how the word "respect" applies to each of us and how we can better our school through our own actions, words and deeds.  Respect can be defined as regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others. Developing empathy, understanding and other views within others, even if it varies from your own, is a way to respect another person's culture, religion, attitudes and traditions.

Confucius once said, "Respect yourself and others will respect you."

Student birthdays today are:
Anthony Starck

If Anthony  would please come down to the office at this time for his birthday treat!

At this time would everyone please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.

Pledge of Allegiance

Everyone have a "try your hardest" Tuesday!
